Greetings to the populace of the Kingdom of Trimaris!

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Lisa May, and I have been appointed as a Director to the Board of Directors of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. As of October 15, 2011, I have been assigned as the Board of Directors Ombudsman for the Kingdom of Trimaris. I am known in the SCA as Countess Margaret ny Connor (OR, OP), residing in the Barony of the Steppes in the Kingdom of Ansteorra.

As your Ombudsman, it is my job to be your Kingdom’s representative to the Board of Directors and the Board’s representative to your Kingdom, and to promote communication and coordination between the Board and your Kingdom. Please note that my first answer to almost any request for assistance with a problem coming from any member of your Kingdom’s populace is going to be “did you follow the procedures laid out in your Kingdom law and policy before calling me? If not, why not?” There are good reasons for those policies and following the process is very important. I urge you to become familiar with your Kingdom’s laws and policies and to take advantage of the SCA web page, which contains all of the SCA’s governing documents. These documents (at both SCA and Kingdom levels) contain the guidelines that will be used to work through any issues that may need to be resolved. I look forward to representing your Kingdom as your Ombudsman!
