TRU STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS & INFORMATION.

Your first step is to register as a TRU Student. This may be with the TRU Chancellor directly at assigned registration opportunities or online. You can register via the Student Registration (A registration link is also available on the right hand side of this page.) You will then receive your Educational Passport. If you register online you can download the Passport and print it directly from the website. Student Passport PDF. Or you can pick up your passport at the next Kingdom event with the TRU Chancellor. Your first Passport from the TRU Chancellor is free; after that, a replacement will cost you $1.

It is your responsibility to retain and maintain your Passport. If you lose your Passport before the TRU Chancellor has verified your classes, you will not receive credit for the un-verified classes. To have your classes verified: please contact the TRU Chancellor by email (see Contacts & Links), or at a Kingdom event during assigned registration times.

When you attend a TRU-qualified class, you should fill out the Class Date, Class Name, and Teacher sections in your Passport. This is the student’s responsibility; the teacher does not need to write on the Passport, but they may. PLEASE PRINT LEGIBLY! (To be a TRU-qualified class, the teacher must have registered the class with the TRU Chancellor, via the Trimaris website or directly, at least one week prior to teaching the class.) Classes that are listed and offered on the official schedule of Gulf Wars and Pennsic Wars may be applied towards your track completion without the teacher registration.

There are four levels of TRU recognition: Novice, Journeyman, Artificer, and Masterwork. Six TRU-qualified (and verified) classes are required to complete each level. As each level is completed, the TRU Chancellor will certify your advancement. When all four levels are completed, the TRU Chancellor will certify your Diploma! Once you have completed a level and it has been certified by the TRU Chancellor, you will receive a cast pewter token as a symbol of your completion.

• NOVICE – all 6 classes may come from any TRU Track (see the TRU Tracks, Divisions and Categories page.)-Scroll Token
• JOURNEYMAN – classes may come from no more than 3 Divisions; for example, 1 class in the Performance Division, 2 in Domestic Arts & Sciences, and 3 from Textile & Needle Arts.- Scroll Token
• ARTIFICER – all 6 classes should be from the same Division; for example, all from Technological Sciences.- Scroll Token
• MASTERWORK – all 6 classes should be from one Category; for example, all from 2.4 Spinning.- TRU Graduation Token

TRU Tokens may be worn or displayed by the recipients in any way that follows the Trimaris Sumptuary Laws.

TRU YOUTH STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS & INFORMATION.
Youth can register as a full student if they like. If registered as a Youth, the degree MUST be completed within 1 full calendar year of your 18th birthday in order to receive a Youth diploma.

TRU TEACHER INSTRUCTIONS & INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in becoming a TRU teacher!

Your first step is to register as a TRU Teacher. This may be with the TRU Chancellor directly at assigned registration opportunities or online. You can register via the Teacher Registration (A registration link is also available on the right hand side of this page.) You will then receive your Teacher Passport. If you register online you can download the Passport and print it directly from the website. Teacher Passport PDF.

The information that you will need to provide is date you registered, your SCA and Mundane names, your local SCA group, email address, phone #, class name and description, the material fee amount (if applicable) and if your class has handouts in paper, electronic or CD formats. Additionally we are asking for you to list your SCA association so we can track who is participating throughout our Kingdom.

Once you have registered as a TRU teacher, your information will be processed into a data base. Then each time you plan to teach your class, you must register this either on the Trimaris website or with the TRU Chancellor at least one week prior to teaching the class. You can register via the Class Notification (A registration link is also available on the right hand side of this page.)

This is so we can keep a tally and checks and balance system with the program. Each time you plan to teach this class you need to send this information to the TRU Chancellor.

Registered TRU Teacher Reward System!

Once you have completed a level and it has been certified by the TRU Chancellor, you will receive a cast pewter token as a symbol of your completion. Teacher Tracks may be completed in any order! If you will be teaching out of Kingdom please register online, with the TRU Chancellor or submit a copy of their schedule to the TRU Chancellor for credit.
• NOVICE –Teach 6 classes at any Trimaris event – Candle Token
• JOURNEYMAN – Teach 6 classes at any local meetings - Candle Token
• ARTIFICER - Teach 6 workdays or series - Candle Token
• MASTERWORK –Teach 6 classes at a Collegium, SCA War or Out of Kingdom event- Candle Token
