What is a Household?
In it’s simplest form, a household is a group of people who like to camp together at S.C.A. events. A household can be as small as a group of friends, or a lord, lady and their children and can be an extension of smaller households.
While households do not have an “official” status in the SCA, households will sponsor combatants, perform services to the kingdom, and they can even have their own heraldic devices.
Households are generally a group or groups of friends with common interests. Some Households have specialties or things they are known for like combat, bardic, brewing, or crafting. Joining a household isn’t a requirement to enjoy your time in the SCA, but households are a great source of learning, comradery, and support. Households are like family.
